Character Information Character Name: Eleanor 'Elle' Jane Hargreeves// Number 11 Played By: Gemma Arterton (I think i misspelled that) Original Canon: Stranger Things
Personality: Elle has always been a very quiet, reserved child. She'd rather sit back and watch, take a situation in before saying or doing anything, a wariness to her that comes from life in the Umbrella Academy. There is also a kindness to her, and an unwavering love and loyalty to her siblings and friends, to the point of putting herself at risk to keep her people safe.
Feeling as though her abilities are dangerous and horrific, however, she tends to spend time by herself out of a desire to really ensure the others around her are safe from what she can do. The ability to summon creatures that reign unholy terror down on people would drive others to some sort of overpowered madness or an abuse of said power, but Elle is terrified of it.
She's a sensitive girl, and very good about showing her emotions. If she's angry, she will let people know, et cetera. Her heart is regularly and consistently on her sleeve, and this is something she's done throughout her entire life, despite her best efforts to keep them contained and keep things to herself. She doesn't stay upset or angry for long, and tends to separate herself from upsetting situations (when she can) so she can clear her head and really think about what to do next. Otherwise, she lashes out with her abilities and people get hurt.
When this occurs, Elle feels guilt and this is the heaviest emotion to her, the one she carries the longest. She even feels it for hurting or scaring people that she doesn't know, a need to never hurt anyone with her powers that didn't deserve it at the core of her.
Another thing to remember about Elle is if she thinks using her powers ish her only choice, she can and will use them very aggressively, to the tune of almost losing herself in how destructive and quick her abilities are. This, of course, circles back around to the guilt she feels for hurting people and causes her to tuck herself away to recover, both physically and emotionally from the ordeal.
Abilities & Skills:
Special Abilities; Telekinesis: Her most recurrent power, she is able to manipulate objects, people and creatures with her mind. When amplified by her emotions, her telekinesis is strong enough to lift large and heavy objects. She's been able to stop trains, busses, catch people when falling and even throw people around violently. Levitation: Via telekinesis, Elle is able to lift herself off the ground and 'fly' short distances. She's even used it to slow herself down when dropping from heights that would kill or damage anyone else. ESP: She can gather information with her mind rather than use her senses like thoughts people have. (Don't worry. I won't Godmod and use without permission.) Remove Viewing: Via ESP, she can seek out and find targets in different locations than her own. When amplified by sensory deprivation, this ability is powerful enough to find targets over vast distances, even as far as other dimensions. Telepathy/Technopathy: with some effort, she is able to communicate with people while using Remote Viewing through telepathic means. She's also able to transmit their voices and the sounds around them through nearby televisions and radios. Portal Manipulation: Elle can open and close portals to the Upside Down at will, though this ability comes with difficulty. It takes all her focus. Once opened... Demogorgon Control: Once the portals are opened, Elle can control a majority of the monsters inside. However, the bigger they are, the harder it is for her to actually get them to do what she wants. The smaller monsters, like the demo-dogs, listen to her with ease. It's the full grown Demogorgons that give her a hard time. The MindFlayer, a large, tentacled beast she's sure is made of smoke and evil, refuses to listen to her at all and even deeply, deeply hates her. Teleportation: Part of her skillset is the ability to teleport, but this is limited to teleporting instantly to the Upside Down. She has been known to do this in times of great stress, and has traveled through the Upside Down to the different parts of the city around her, teleporting back out into empty warehouses or abandoned buildings.
Skills; Despite not being a chatty girl, Elle does have a love of the flow and rhythm of languages. One of her favorites being ASL. She took the time to learn it and eventually became an ASL interpreter.
Childhood: Her childhood was rough. Reginald discovered that her abilities were a lot stronger in sensory deprivation tanks and large bodies of water, so now Elle has a deep fear of being in water deeper than her waist.
Despite this, she did try to please her father, only to realize that she wasn't quite as useful to him if her abilities caused her so much pain and injury. So she stuck to making her siblings happy, going to them after horrible missions to both seek out and offer some kind of comfort, spending time with them reading or playing during their allotted thirty minutes. She also loved being around Grace, finding her presence the only resemblance of love from a parent that she was ever going to get.
As for being a hero, she didn't like it much. Sure, she was good with helping people in need, but the violence of it never sat well with her, nor did how some of her siblings absolutely take to it.
Present Occupation: She's an ASL interpreter for a third grade boy named Declan Cuomo. She goes to school with him, helps him understand his classes and talk to his classmates and teachers, and helps him with his homework. Present Residence: Despite her job paying her well, Elle lives small. Her apartment a few miles away from the Academy is one room, perfect for her and her pet demodog, D'artagnan.
Anything else we should know? She has a love of D&D and frequents a small shop owned by one Mike Wheeler and his friends every week to play with them. She also paints mini figures, builds sets for D&D campaigns and still does a heck of a lot of reading. No family, though. Just her and Dart, the runtiest of demodogs ever.
