With the addition of a few Hargreeves and some other groups that may know one another, we thought it'd be a good idea to have a post for plotting and CR building before we start the game.

Below are some examples of information that you can include, though you are not required to answer every question. Feel free to provide as much or as little as you'd like about your character and to copy and paste from your Character Info post if necessary.

Hargreeves Team A

Team A was Reginald Hargreeves' preferred group of children. They were the varsity team of crime fighting, either because of their talent or the control he had over them. While he trained and experimented on all his children, these were the ones that got the most spotlight and the most important missions.

Vanya Hargreeves | Number Seven

Character Name: Vanya Hargreeves | Number Seven
The Past: Before her powers were taken away, Vanya was stubborn, and had a tendency to lash out with her powers when she was angry. She displayed a whole lot of power and it probably made sense that she was one of the 43, and that she could have been a member of the A team. Deemed too dangerous to control but their father, Vanya's memories were altered, and she was put on medication that changed her completely. Her siblings were likely too young to really notice or understand what had happened. Vanya became the 'ordinary' one. Not even good enough for B Team, and as such their emotionally toxic household became even worse for her. Any personality she stood a chance of developing while on medication was effectively stamped out of her by her father, and by extension, most of her siblings. She barley feels at all, mostly drifting through life in a numb state that leaves her flying under every radar. Even her love for music and the violin doesn't properly shine through. She left the house at 18 and hasn't looked back, except to publish an autobiography. She doesn't attempt to stay in touch with her siblings because a) they left her out before, why would that change now, and b) after releasing her book she probably only reinforced that.
The Present: Music pays her bills, and Vanya holds down a job as a violin instructor, and as the third chair in an orchestra. She still lives in the same city, about a half an hour cab drive away from the Umbrella Academy in decent traffic. The area she lives in isn't the best, but it's not bad either. Her apartment is a small, one bedroom that is decorated very plain, because she really just can't be bothered. Vanya has never really been able to hold down a relationship despite attempting to a few times, because she really just doesn't feel all that much. That, and frankly she's too scared too. Being on her own is just easier, because no one can let you down or make you feel less than if you don't let them in.
The Future: Vanya has zero interest in the other 42 that she didn't grow up with. Not because she has anything against them, it's just because she's completely apathetic about it. What would be the point anyway? She wouldn't be rude if she did end up meeting them, but she's not going to seek them out. That being said, I would not say no to her meeting more of them and being like 'Great I really am the only normal one.' or something. I'd love a CR that sort of draws her attention and maybe starts to make her think better of herself/distract her from doing the right thing and refilling her medication eventually. Friendship, relationship, whatever. It would be cool if it was kind of nefarious, but it could also be something actually positive. Also looking for someone to music-nerd out with if there's another character who's a music lover. I'm open to many CR, gimmie.

I'm super interested to navigate rekindling the familial relationship between these two. We already talked a lot about that, though, so I won't bore you with it. I'd be curious to see if we could find a reason for her to interact with either of my girls, though. I think they could both be good for cr with her, for different reasons, but getting them to meet is the hard part, I think, so I'm open to ideas if you're interested and have any!

I have a lot of feelings about how they could have potentially bonded over being disappointment-outcasts in the family if they'd just... not been so wildly and completely estranged for a billion years. I don't know if Nat and Vanya have actually had a conversation, but given Natasha's position at the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, I feel like she read Vanya's book and possibly was even at a book reading/event at one point.

Ben Hargreeves

Character Name: Ben Hargreeves
The Past: You all know his past. He's the enthusiastic and naive kid that has the Horrors under his skin. He'd do anything to try to get praise from their Father, as well as Number One, but generally fell by the way side compared to the first few kids. Their father found his Horrors nauseating and didn't want to deal with them unless needed.

At that point Ben didn't want to deal with them either. By time they went out on their first mission, Ben was the one that wanted to go home. That didn't want to be there. he grew up as part of the Umbrella Academy, always managing to do 'clean up' with the Horrors. Stepping into battles to throw tentacles around and beat up the bad guys. A line of defense for some of his siblings. A protector.

He loved ALL of his siblings. He enjoyed spending time with each and everyone of them, on his team or not. He was considered the kindest of the group.

He never wanted to leave home, because his siblings were home for him. Though one night when he was 17, while out on a job with the others, something Terrible happened. Father had been encouraging him to summon something more than the tentacles. Something bigger. He'd always been scared to do more than that, but this night, watching as one of his siblings almost took a hit, he summoned something bigger.

That Something bigger turned on him, and to this day most people aren't sure if it ate him or if it just turned him inside out or what. It appeared to turn on Ben, and one minute he was there, the next he was screaming in pain and being folded in on himself, just gone. Sometime later he found himself around Klaus, haunting him, basically.

He's spent hte last 12 or so years haunting Klaus now. Showing up when ever the other is sober enough to see him, and sometimes, even then, Ben seems to be around. Klaus is the only one that can see him, that he knows of.

The Present: He now haunts Klaus, mostly. He is his moral campus for the most part. Which is to say he tries to help Klaus and fails at it 99% of the time. There isn't much to say here. He's Klaus dependent at the moment.

The Future: I would like to find a way to bring Ben back from the dead. Be it manifesting through Klaus or actually bringing him back from a realm in between. I love the idea of Ben being stuck between reality and the land of his Horrors. That something will snap him into existence once again. SO if you have some ideas or want to play with that, let me know, otherwise I can talk to the Klaus player about manifesting him on a more normal basis. Both work well for me! Let him learn to do GHOSTY THINGS.

Klaus Hargreeves | #00.04

Character Name: Klaus Hargreeves
The Past: As a kid, Klaus was terrified of his powers and as a result ended up being very, very needy, particularly after rounds and sessions of "training" with Dad and overnight stays in crypts. He had a tendency to sneak into other siblings' rooms and sleep to just avoid being alone. He had solid relationships with all of his siblings growing up-- whether that is a good thing or a bad one depends on the siblings in question-- but he was always arguably closest to Ben, and he took his death incredibly hard. Already heading well into the direction of substance abuse by then, Klaus took a dive for the worse after the sudden death of one of their own and it was only shortly after, and the second he was 18, that he left the house and more or less never looked back. He kept in vague and varying degrees of contact with most of siblings, but it was sparse and wildly unpredictable due to the fly-by-night way he was living.

The Present: Klaus definitely doesn't have a job and any money he may have at any given time was stolen, he charmed his way into, or produced from something he may or may not have stolen and pawned. He does not live what one might call "well", couch surfing and landing in ERs and court-appointed rehab more times than he would care to put a number to. Love isn't something he searches for, believing fully that he isn't capable of having it, so he settles for promiscuity instead, never having the same lover for more than a few weeks' time, and largely due to his heavy lean toward men, he thankfully has not managed to procreate (and the world is better off for it, honestly. plz no one give this man-child an actual child kthx). Klaus definitely lives in a state of avoidance and ignoring his abilities on even the best of days, because he's terrified of them, but it's kind of public knowledge to anyone who might have been around in the earliest days of the Academy days when Reginald was parading the kids around like heroes.

The Future: Klaus himself is not particularly looking for others like him. He knows a whole other dozen of them and that's enough kthx. But I do want CR with all of you, so come at me! Whether you're a reporter looking for a story, a dealer or fellow partier he's met somewhere randomly along the way, a bartender who he's a regular of, someone he's had a saucy encounter with in the past that he likely doesn't recall, oops~, law types that he's on a first-name (on Klaus' end, because he's an obnoxious shit, at least) basis with for all the trouble he's landed in, someone to be a real-true GOOD influence on him and his behaviors/habits, or any-and-everything else under the sun, I want it. Diego Hargreeves | Number Two

Character Name: Diego Hargreeves
The Past: Diego was pretty defensive about his stutter and the fact that he was always in Luther's shadow. He was competitive and tried his damndest to prove himself. Still he understood the importance of working as part of a team and that the consequences if he or anyone else screwed up was that one of them might get hurt. He fell in line if he needed to and he stepped up to lead anytime he got the chance. He was probably a dick when he was a teen and worked on perfecting his sharp insults, but he was also protective of his siblings. If anyone else messed with them, he would've been all over them. God help the villian that pissed him off by taking a cheap shot at one of his siblings in a fight. He is a little rough with his love and probably wasn't the sibling that offered you a shoulder to cry on or kind words, but he would find an excuse to check up on you in his own way after a tough battle. He'd also be the first to call you out on your shit if he thought you needed to be called out. He loves mom in a way that he doesn't bother hiding the way he does his feelings for his siblings. I imagine they teased him a lot about that.

My headcanon is that he left after Ben's death. I think part of it was guilt and part of it was coming to the conclusion that Reginald really didn't give a shit about any of them. Also, because as he said, that's what you do when you're young. He wanted to make a life for himself. He stopped by the house often to visit mom and probably Pogo to an extent. His siblings may have heard from him once in a blue moon. Some more than others.

He tried going legit and joining the police force, but it didn't work out. After not having to take orders from Hargreeves or Luther he wasn't about to start let someone else give them to him.

The Present: He scrapes by by boxing and mopping up the gym to have a place to stay. He works as a vigilante, doing things his way and taking out the bad guys on the street. He believes in protecting others and he feels like he has a specific set of skills and abilities that allow him to do that better than most. He's got friends and enemies in the police department. He's spent a lot of time behind bars, maybe even a few months at a time.

The Future: I want all of the sibling CR. I wouldn't mind a Eudora to light an old flame with. Or possibly for something romantic to form down the line, though I feel like long term relationships develop slowly with him. One night stands though, that could be a thing. Bring me all the conflict and messy feelings. Call him out on being a hypocrite and let him be the one to call your character out on whatever they need to hear. I'm open to everything.

Hargreeves Team B

Team B was Reginald Hargreeves' problem children. They were his second choice when it came to missions and everything else in general. This is either because they were harder to control or they failed to live up to their full potential. He often pitted Team A against Team B in order to push all of the children to their limits when it came to their powers.

Derek Hargreeves | Number Eight

Character Name: Derek Hale Hargreeves
The Past: As a kid, Derek was almost definitely a try-hard. He had little control over his abilities, especially when a full moon was due or around, until his mid-teens. So he worked harder and longer, likely, than most of them (to no avail) to try to be a better, more controlled version of himself. He never bothered to look for his biological family, figuring that they wouldn't have adopted him out if they wanted him in their lives. He would've been more bitter and surly by the teen years and he would've been super protective of his sisters. If anyone messed with one of them, whether the girls realized it or not (sometimes, he'd hide his efforts from them; sometimes not so much), the person in question would've had him to answer to and it wouldn't have been pretty. In the instance of Vanya, he was particularly protective. As they aged, he kept that on the DL more and more, because he can smell emotions and he wouldn't have wanted her to be upset that he was getting up in her business. Rest assured, though, that if one of the other siblings was picking on her for being ordinary, Derek would've been the first to shut them down with an insult (or a punch in the face). He'd have done the same for any of the girls. He left home not long after Vanya did, probably, but definitely once he turned 18. He wouldn't have actively kept in touch with anyone who didn't make it clear to him that they wanted to be in touch. So if your character didn't make it known to him that they cared to stay in his life, he wouldn't have ever reached out to them. He would've kept up with them on the DL as much as he could (read Vanya's book, went to her shows and sat way in the back, watched everything Allison was ever in, might've creeped around after Klaus to make sure he didn't wind up murdered by a dirty dealer or someone he owed money to, etc) without being detected. If they wanted to keep in touch, he would've absolutely done so, though.
The Present: He still lives in the city they grew up in, in a little one bedroom that looks bare as hell, even though he makes good money. He can't be bothered with all that. Derek flips houses for a living. He started out just hoarding money away as a teenager and in his early twenties, as much as he could, by doing maintenance work for local apartment managers. Now, he lives alone. He doesn't really have friends, except the woman who styles the homes he flips (he shares 25% of the profits with her). At the moment, he doesn't have a significant other (he has in the past, but they've never lasted very long) and has no children, although he's secretly only ever wanted the apple pie life, so to speak; wife, kids, maybe a dog, a nice house. Normal stuff. He keeps his abilities to himself and only uses them when someone needs helping and he happens to notice. He does hide his identity whenever he joins a fray, though, however few and far between those instances may be.
The Future: I want all the CR. Positive and negative CR with siblings. Positive CR with Grace, maybe, since I picture his relationship to her to be a bit like Diego's (but it can absolutely be one-sided if her player isn't interested in CR). I'm so down for someone to pick up the home stylist he works with. I'm down for shipping potential (not with any of the siblings, probably, I don't think. Even though they're not TECHNICALLY related, they still grew up together and idk if I wanna go down that road, but I'm not 100% adverse to it, either, it would just have to be organic if it happened). I'm open to ideas, seriously. Hit me with whatever you've got.

Sally Hargreeves | Number Thirteen

Character Name: Sally Malik Hargreeves
The Past: Sally was 1000% that kid that had to let everyone in the house know her feelings and fully thought that the others should too. She wasn't one of the children that was particularly enthused with being a superhero because she wanted normalcy and she wanted freedom. Plus, there's the fact that her powers weren't easy for her to figure out. So, she was not only obnoxiously out there about what she was feeling and what she thought, but she was also the one that took a while to figure out her powers. She spent a period of her childhood struggling to keep herself in a solid form as well as clogging all of the drains in the house and rattling the furniture and everything that wasn't firmly nailed down when she was in one of her emotional states/moods. Sally has always been one that isn't afraid to fight or argue, but she'd much rather get along and she's not afraid of forcing her attentions or company on someone, so she was likely very annoying to each and every one of her siblings on some occasion. And despite wanting normalcy she never wanted to lose touch with her siblings, but upon leaving and going to college and eventually meeting her ex-fiancee she likely lost touch with anybody who wasn't willing to go a little extra mile because Danny was controlling and abusive. He damn near killed her when he shoved her down the stairs, but with her powers and luck she survived. Ideally I'd love it if some of her siblings were there after that happened, but she and Danny split after that and she's been rebuilding her life since.
The Present: Since Danny Sally has gotten herself a job at a mortuary as an assistant which she knows is really weird but it pays well, she's gotten two male roommates, and she's just been trying to pick up and find herself again and make a new plan for her life. I think that will include wanting to reconnect with siblings that she hasn't had contact with and everything, tbh. She's not exactly someone that is hiding her abilities now, but with Danny she hid and supressed a lot of herself and she's doing everything to not shrink into that mousy version of herself ever again....and somehow find what she wanted with Danny again as well as navigate things with a whole new situation. The job she has isn't exactly what she wants to do but it pays and she's got a house that she's stuck with, so there you go!
The Future: I legit want everything - positive, negative, everything in between! I particularly would love the siblings that might have showed up after what happened with her ex-fiancee, siblings that knew/could see What kind of guy he was and tried to tell her to no avail, etc. Sally is the sort of person that is friendly and super receptive to finding more like them so she could easily act as a bridge if she meets others like her and her siblings to introduce or whatever, honestly. I am so open to everything here, friendly, family, romantic lets talk! OH! And a plot with Sally being refrained or holding someone back from going after Danny at some point would be A+ in my book to plot too! Cooome at me with all the things!

Walter Hargreeves | Number Nine

Character Name: Walter Hargreeves, aka #9 aka The Knowledge, these days he goes by Walter O'Reilly or Radar to his army buddies.

The Past: Walter was always a shy, somewhat serious child, trailing along after his brothers and sisters as though he were the the baby of the family (despite them all being the same age), he was always easily led and would usually get himself into trouble just by following some of the his more boisterous siblings. Sometimes, however, he'd get them all out of trouble using his abilities. Walter's ability to know something was about to happen just before it happened meant that any cookie-related heists or similar childhood shenanigans could be executed with Walter as the lookout and he'd be able to give enough warning for everybody to scatter at just the right moment to avoid getting caught.
He sometimes had a habit of 'repeating' what you were saying a half-step quicker than you were actually saying it, but mostly his abilities came in the form of warnings when something bad was about to happen.

He was never a particularly good member of the team, being fairly lacking in most other combat-related abilities, and with his warnings only being a few seconds in advance they weren't always the most reliable. Generally it was about giving his siblings and teammates a chance to react that little bit quicker, but other than that he didn't really see much of a use for himself.

When the family started to split, Walter was devastated, and eventually he left himself in search of another family - he found the army.
He goes by Walter O'Reilly these days, at least on army records, because he doesn't really do well with the attention being a Hargreeves can earn, but he's definitely not ashamed of his family and tries to keep in touch with all of them.

The Present: Walter is currently a Corporal in the army, he's stationed in Korea as of the death of Reginald, but he's been all over the place before that.
He doesn't have a significant other or any family to speak of outside of his siblings, but he sees the army as a family of a kind.
Despite being out in the world and wanting to prove himself as a valuable person in his own right and not just a slightly rubbish member of a secondary superhero team, Walter still cares very deeply about his siblings and will almost certainly write to all of them often. If he doesn't know their actual address, they'll likely arrive back at the house for the funeral and find a pile of letters from him that have been sent there.

The Future: Do you want to have received letters from Radar? Do you want to not have received letters from Radar? Do you want him to have followed you around as kids?
For non-Hargreeves, he's been around the world with the army so there's plenty of scope for having met him elsewhere.

Project Bravo

A secret government institution codenamed Project Bravo began collecting enhanced children once it was determined they had powers. It’s possible that some of the acquisitions of these children involved removing family members that might object. The children were raised and trained to be soldiers and assassins on a secret military base. They were experimented on and tested mercilessly by their handlers. Most likely, even though they had a low number of the 43, not all survived.

When the subjects were sixteen, a few managed to escape the base. Those that didn't were put under strict observation until their "graduation" from the program. This was an act where they were forced to prove their loyalty to the program. Only then, were they allowed to live outside the base under the close watch of their handlers who also provide them with classified missions.

Eric Draven

Character Name: Eric Draven
The Past: Stolen from his parents as a baby, they were murdered in order to get the child. So he has never known his true parents, not even their names or location of birth. He was raised by Project Bravo, a group of secret government people who took children of the 42 and raised them to be perfect little soldiers.

He grew up very scared for most his life, because his powers didn’t show for quite some time, mostly because training was in the day time and his powers work best at night. It was in one battle against another student that he received a substantial wound and wasn’t intended to survive the night, but as night came his wound healed and he was better. They thought he had a simple regeneration or heal factor that they later connected to the night time. So he was trained to take hits from knives and bullets, as well as other injuries.

He was scared of training because he almost always ended up hurt some how, even though he would heal, it still hurt! That was until the day that someone took it too far and he died in the middle of training. His body unable to regenerate in the day, he was whisked away to medical but died before the night time came. It was three days before they put his body into the ground. That night a crow sat on his grave, pecking at the worms from the disturbed soil. His hand broke free of the soil and he pulled himself up out of the ground, gasping for air and crying out in pain. From then on they knew him as Immortal.

As a teenager he was used with great risk, allowing him to get into tight spots, take a hit and keep on going. He died several times on missions, but always got the job done, especially if it was to help a fellow teammate to accomplish the goal.

At 16 there was a revolt, a group of the kids tried breaking out to escape. As they snuck out they were attacks and forced to choose to run or get caught. In the fight to escape, several students got caught, but Eric sacrificed himself to get them free, taking an electrified shock to his system that would kill an elephant. The other students managed to escape as Eric lay there on the ground dying. When he woke again a few days later, pushing out of his grave, he screamed in frustration at being kept there, put on watch and unable to escape. He graduated, much against his will, and became a full on asset.

At age 26, after years and years of assassination and secret projects, he found his way to escape. It came at great risk and several innocent people died, but he escaped and went on the run.

He tried to have a normal life. Fell into music, joined a shitty rock band, met the love of his life, Shelly, and intended to marry her on Halloween of 2017. An Agent of Project Bravo found them though and murdered Shelly and killed him. When he came to some time later, pulled out of the ground, his heart was broken. Shelly was dead and they had found him again. Eric went on the move, no longer allowing himself to settle down for anything.

He roams the earth going from one place to another, playing music at clubs once in a while, and trying to keep ahead of his former home.

The Present: He still plays at being an assassin, but only to those who are truly bad. Freelance Assassin for hire kind of thing. The Crow. He’s something to be worried about if you are in the know and barely a name to those who are innocent. He has no family since his wife to be was killed.

When not being a dark and scary “Crow” he tends to hang out at rock bars, pubs, and other flop houses. It’s the best place to hear ‘things’. It’s also cheap and easy to find. He plays music once in a while for spare money.

People like Diego who goes out at night being a vigilante might know of The Crow as an assassin that takes out thugs and mobsters. Tends to protect the innocent. People like Klaus might know him from bars, clubs and pubs. He never does drugs though. Smokes and drinks once in a while but never does drugs.

The Future: I would Love, love, love to find some other Project Bravo kids and work out how they knew each other. Eric was a friendly boy and a bit of a jokester while in training, and they only just barely beat that out of him for a bit. He’d been a protective type for some people too. Looking for a close friend maybe. Someone to reconnect with. Perhaps someone who got away at the 16 year revolt? Or was stuck there with him. Either is great.

Romantic Rp is doable (he doesn’t see any of them as siblings), though he’d love to find Shelly again but she’s dead (or is she? Up to a player). And if not, he’d be slow to ship but a good loyal boy if he did find someone.

Wouldn’t mind bumping heads with law enforcement or other Agents of Gov programs.

Re: Project Bravo

Character Name: Dick Grayson aka Nightwing
The Past: At first, Dick Grayson's childhood was a very happy one. While John and Mary Grayson hadn't been expecting a child, they were delighted by their strange miracle baby - when one lived and worked in a circus, you got used to a few oddities - and while they didn't quite know why or how Dick had come into the world, they loved him regardless. He was very young when his powers started to develop, though his parents didn't immediately realise that's what was happening, they just thought he was naturally gifted as an acrobat. He was only five years old when he started joining them in the big top.
When he was nine, tragedy struck during a trick and his parents fell to their deaths when a trapeze broke. The young Dick had leapt desperately as though he might save them, only to fall himself. Fortunately or unfortunately, this was the moment his other abilities chose to show themselves, and he survived the fall completely unscathed - a fact he's never quite forgiven himself for.

Waiting to take him in was a representative of Project Bravo. They were the first to let slip that the accident may have been deliberate, and to dangle the carrot of revenge in front of his face - perhaps if he trained hard he would be able to find out who did this and stop them from hurting anybody else, or would at least be able to protect anybody from experiencing the same thing in the future.
He vowed in that moment he would never rest until he found out who did it - he still has no answers (spoiler alert it was DEFINITELY project bravo themselves let's be real here).

Dick wasn't the most highly powered of Project Bravo's assets, but he was one of the most determined, and he bought into their agenda wholesale, making him the perfect candidate for leadership as he grew older.
When several other assets escaped, Dick was initially judged still too young to be tasked with bringing them back in, a judgement he bitterly disputed at the time - the truth of the matter was that his handlers knew how deeply he cared for his fellow assets, and they didn't want to run the risk of any of them talking him into running away as well.

The Present: Dick is still Project Bravo, he has a lot more autonomy but he still runs missions for them and still believes their lies.

The Future: Give me all the project bravo kids. Dick is a proper Team Leader type, so he'll likely have been in charge of a least a few others - would love any positive or negative CR that comes from that.
Since he's a loyal soldier and all that and still hasn't entirely figured out that bravo are the bad guys there's probably some conflict there, but he's also super protective of those around him so there's definitely a chance of getting along well too.
He does have standing orders to report or bring in any bravo kids buuuut maybe he can be convinced otherwise

The Others

Character Name: Carrietta (Carrie) White
The Past: In a word, Carrie was sheltered. Very, very sheltered. She was raised by her mother, although "raised" is probably a term best used loosely. She was largely abused emotionally and physically until she was a teenager. She discovered her powers in her teens and learned very quickly, on her own, how to develop them to be very powerful. As a child and teen, she was also bullied in school and had no friends. A prank played on her at the prom she hadn't even originally wanted to attend caused Carrie to snap and she used her telekinetic powers to trap everyone in the gym before setting the building on fire and killing them all. She also killed the perpetrators of the prank by manufacturing a car crash, essentially throwing their car into a gas station's pumps and blowing it up. When she went home to seek the comfort of her mother, instead, her mother tried to kill her because she believed Carrie to have the devil in her (her abilities). To defend herself, Carrie killed her mother and mourned the loss with her mother's body in her arms as their home crumbled around them. She had to abandon her mother's corpse to escape the house and survive it, but then she had to go on the run. She left Maine and sort of wandered from state to state until she found a place she liked, using her sewing skills to make money where she could to survive, and spent the better part of her twenties squatting in abandoned buildings or living in homeless shelters until she was able to get on her feet financially.
The Present: Carrie keeps her head down. She still uses her given name, because she's far enough from Chamberlain that she thinks it's probably safe to do that. She lives in a crappy one-bedroom apartment in a bad part of town. Carrie doesn't have much by way of material belongings and she dresses in frumpy clothes acquired from Salvation Army/Goodwill type stores. She mostly makes her money by sewing custom clothes (mostly dresses) and selling them online. Well, mostly online. She never uses her abilities on purpose and if they slip out, it's usually only if she feels threatened. Carrie does not have any friends or significant others, because she lacks social abilities required to create and cultivate meaningful relationships.
The Future: I would love to have her meet some others "like her." Her sheltered life means she knows absolutely nothing about the 43, just that other people who can do the types of things that she can do exist somewhere, according to Google. She's going to be really skittish and wary, but I would love for someone (male or female; romantic or platonic) to build a relationship with her, so that she has at least one person she knows she can trust and be close to, but it's going to take a while for that to get anywhere significant, so the player (and the character) will have to be patient with Carrie and I, but I think it could be really fun to slow burn a friendship or relationship, especially with someone who could help her use her abilities for good once in a while. I also welcome negative CR (maybe someone is looking for her because she was supposed to die in that house or because, you know, she murdered her entire class and then her mom).

Character Name: Kara Danvers
The Past: Kara was adopted as a child, she just wasn't adopted by Hargreeves. Her birth parents couldn't take care of her, but they were incredibly picky about who they were willing to allow to take her and since Hargreeves had so many other adoptive children, they felt she would be better with another family. She ended up with the Danvers family and grew up with an older adoptive sister. She's always known about her abilities and she's always known she's adopted. Her biological parents are presumed to be dead and she knows that, too, so she hasn't gone looking for them. As a child, she hid her abilities and tried to blend in and fit in with her sister and other "ordinary" people like her.
The Present: She went to school for journalism as an adult and worked as, first, an assistant and now as an investigative reporter for a local newspaper. Kara uses her powers to help people and protect the city she lives in, but she did take a page out of the Umbrella Academy's book and she wears a disguise when she's doing so, taking on a persona she calls Supergirl to protect her actual identity. She lives in a nicer apartment, one bedroom, but on a seedier part of town because she's not worried about her safety, but does like the idea of saving a little money.
The Future: I would love any and all CR with her, but especially I think it would be cool for her to work with others like her who use their abilities to help people or protect more vulnerable people. I'd also love for her to take part in whatever LGBT scene the city might have, at first to support her sister (who has recently come out to her as homosexual), and then to support (or potentially take part in) the local LGBT community, so if there are any characters that might be able to coax her into that, that would be amazing.

Liz Sherman

Character Name: Liz Sherman
The Past: Liz was born instantly to her mother who had been trying to have children for years and couldn’t. The pregnancy was instant and Liz appears in the world on October first of 1989. Considered a freak of nature, her father moved their family right after. This became a trend throughout her childhood, moving from city to city, at first because of his job, but later because of her powers. Because of their constant moving it was hard for Hargreeves to find her to buy, and even if he had, her mother wouldn’t have let her go at this point.

At age seven her bed and teddy bear were found burned. Later volleyballs at school exploded around them. When chased by two girls and picked on, her hands exploded into fire that she couldn’t put out no matter what she tried. They moved again. She was placed in Catholic School where Father Jones gave her a small crucifix, but that didn’t help her either.

Her parents fought constantly, and soon split up, leaving her with her mother. They did their best to not place the blame on her but Liz feels a constant guilt for their troubles.

At age 11 the world went up in a blaze of fire. She doesn’t remember how or what happened but the court yard she was playing in had caught on fire, and the fire around her was intense and large. It killed fifteen people, as well as her mother. She was devastated by the body count, the loss of her mother and the incident.

She went from institution to institution for a few years until someone realized she was one of the 42. At which point she was directed to Hargreeves place at age 12 but he held no interest in her. Instead she ran away when given the chance and lived on the street for some time.

At age 17 she was picked up by Professor Broom, who took her in and promised he wasn’t going to force her on a team or training of any kind, but that he wanted to help her understand her powers. She wanted nothing to do with it until one Hellboy came in and proved he was fireproof and willing to be around her. That she wasn’t just abnormal but one of the Freaks like the rest of them. She bonded well enough with Hellboy and ended up working for the team for years, thought she was in and out of employ with them as she started to feel the need to be ‘normal’ slink back in.

After the Pittsburgh incident (she exploded a very large area and killed so many people) she shut down again, locking herself into her shell once again. Agent Myers tried to convince her to come back, but instead she convinced herself she had to go find others of the 42. Others like her. Maybe instead of being one of the monsters or freaks, she could be one of the wonder babies of the 42. Or at least try and understand them better.

The Present: Liz works for the BPRD (Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense) as some of it's assets. She works close to Hellboy and Abe, the two major players in the group. There are Agents as well of course, and other supernaturals.

Liz is having some mental problems and has taken herself out of the game for a bit, placing herself into a hospital in order to commit herself to getting some help, but mostly just to disappear for a while. Unfortunately there was a recent fire problem that burned half the hospital and so she's out. Instead of wanting to go back to the BPRD she's instead wandering, trying to take control of her life and be NORMAL. She takes photos of people and things, mostly because she wants the reminder that the world can be simple again. She keeps in contact with the BPRD, but she doesn't want to go back to it just yet. Professor Broom has sent Agent out to check on her once in a while, which is fine. She knows he cares.

She is looking for others of the 43 in order to see what it was like for them. There has to be more than this to life.

The Future: I would love for other characters to be tied up in the BPRD. No need to understand Lore for it. It's a basic thing. The BPRD does paranormal investigations, and the 43 would have interested them. They would have taken GREAT care of them though. Nurtured them and raised them as people not tools. Those that were interested in working for the BPRD would be welcome and those not interested would always have a place to fall back on if needed. There would also be place for normal Agents who would work for them as well. Lots of openings for things here.

I'd love for Liz to have made friends from the others in the BPRD. Or at least know them well enough to consider them okay. Would love for someone to be close to her. If that is at all possible. She's a bit of a closed off mess but she does like people.

Vincent Griffith

Character Name: Vincent Griffith
The Past: Vincent comes from a pretty colorful background - he was born in New Orleans to a coven of witches. Raised believing in every single one of the traditions of his coven, Vincent uses those believes in order to channel his powers. He grew up relatively normal even with being raised by witches. He's been channeling his powers since he was a kid and they have been a part of him for a long time....one that his family embraced very much. He grew up boxing in the local gym, being a leader within his community, meeting his future wife, graduating, getting married, and getting several degrees in psychology.

Vincent and his ex wife, Eva, had plans and were about to start their own family when they were approached by people from Project Bravo. They attempted to bring Vincent into the fold in a calm and friendly manner at first only to be turned down. They weren't turned down by Eva, though. She not only joined them, but she got herself saddled witht he job of kidnapping chidlren and trying to bring escaped 43 back into the fold. Vince found out, it caused some major issues, and it put them at incredible odds. And not only that, but she managed to lose them their child. He turned her in, in an attempt to fix the wrongs she had done, ultimately leading to her death because of everything she'd done. He doesn't know all of the details, but he knows he lost everything in pretty much a fail swoop.

This was followed by the people at project Bravo taking him forcibly, kidnapping him and trying to torture and basically force him into working for them. Needless to say that they pushed him and he pushed back and got himself out and away from them - definitely killing some people along the way. After everything he went through he had to get away from it all and that's lead to a change of life and moving to start all over.

The Present: Vincent is a consultant for the police force - when it comes to matters of psychology as well as the occult - and he works as an advisor in the psychology department at the college. He is currently living in an apartment in an eh area close to the college. He's single because he lost everyone close to him - including the family that he had, they're all gone at this point. Because of everything that he's been through he chooses, for the most part, not to use his abilities and not to be completely open with them with many anymore.

He has had a great curiosity when it comes to the 43, but he hasn't done or pursued anything with it in quite some time.
The Future: I am, legit, looking for everything. Positive, negative, friendship, romance - I'll take anything, honestly. I'd love for him to make some friends and to find a new community of sorts with him having left what he had behind. I'd also be open to someone within the game having been responsible for Eva's death - who is connected to BRAVO or whatever. I think that given the chance and seeing it he might be pulled into interest when realizing he sees others like him for sure, but it's not his primary focus or anything. I'd love for Bravo to be more of an issue for him and for him to connect with others based on that. I'd also love for him to help any regulars on a police/consultant level too. I basically want alllllll the things! I'm happy to jump in on his psych stuff too if anyone could use it at all too!

Bonnie Bennett

Character Name: Bonnie Bennett
The Past: Bonnie was one of the children who was taken by Project Bravo, and managed to escape at 16. Her childhood was not a happy one, but at least they taught her to control her abilities. She does have some happy memories with her Grandmother before she was kidnapped, and she still remains an influence on Bonnie and the choices that she makes. Bonnie's maternal lineage comes from the women who fled the Salem Witch trials and claim to be actual witches. She doesn't know if her powers are a complete coincidence, but it's something she takes pride in.
The Present: Bonnie is an expert in the occult, and travels as a guest lecturer, and also owns her own occult shop. She runs in whenever she can, but also has one full time staff who declares herself Wicca. Bonnie has recently lost her long time partner, thanks to Project Bravo so she's still pretty pissed about that.
The Future: I'd love for her to eventually reconnect with Project Bravo kids who no longer work for them, though she won't trust them at first. A bit of fear is healthy.

The Ordinary

Natasha Romanoff

Character Name: Character's Name
The Past: Natasha was born into a cult and raised to serve the needs of their extremist leader. From the time she was a young child she was told the world would end and she would be judged by her service to the group. She was raised to be an obedient soldier as a child and by the time she was a teen she was being sent on terrorist missions for the group. When doomsday came and the world didn't end the leader attempted to kill himself and his followers. Natasha, realizing that her life was a lie, escaped and dedicated her life to ensuring that others wouldn't have to go through what she did. She worked hard and eventually became an FBI agent but due to an ethical infraction was forced to leave the agency. It was then that she was recruited for the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense.

The Present: Natasha is an agent for the BPRD. She lives alone in a modest one bedroom apartment. Her focus is her job and she travels a lot for her investigations. She doesn't have very many friendships outside of those at work and hasn't been in a relationship in a very long time.

The Future: Everything! Co-workers at the BPRD. I'd love for her to investigate some of the 43 or be part of a division that monitors them. If there have been any big recent or past developments with your character that would've gotten the attention of the Bureau I would like for her to look into it, either on the clock or off of it.

Clint Barton

Character Name: Clint Barton

The Past: Clinton Francis Barton was born in Waverly, Iowa, the second of two boys. His father was an abusive alcoholic, and while Clint was the youngest he often took the brunt of the beatings, one of which left him partially deaf, to protect his mother and his brother, Barney. Their mother never protested, and always took up for their father no matter what, so when both parents died in a car accident when Clint was seven he found little inclination to mourn either of them.

The next few years were spent bouncing from orphanage to foster home and back, until Barney had the brilliant idea to literally run away with the circus. It actually worked out quite well for them, as while they were given all the shit jobs in the beginning, literally, eventually they got a chance. They were taken under the wing of the Swordsman and Trickshot, and a little makeshift family was formed.

The Swordsman and Trickshot, the carnival's expert marksman, trained Clint is sword fighting and archery, the latter of which he turned out to be a natural at, and for a while life was great until he discovered the Swordsman embezzling money from the carnival. He was given the chance to go along with it and take the money but Clint refused and tried to turn his former mentor in to the authorities. He was badly beaten for his troubles and left for dead, but Trickshot found him and took him to the hospital.

When he awoke Clint discovered he had two broken legs along with various other injuries, but none of them hurt as much as his heart. Barney was waiting at his bedside, but it wasn't with words of relief or love, but accusations. Barney was angry that Clint hadn't taken the deal and walked out, choosing a life of crime over his own brother.


Trickshot stepped in as the only family Clint had left and stepped up his training. Clint was a master with the bow and arrow, and it was likely that with enough practice he would even surpass his teacher. Hawkeye The World's Greatest Marksman, that was the title he came to use in his shows. He basked in the praise Trickshot threw at him and did what he could to make the other man happy. Unfortunately it was a set-up from the start, another in the growing list of betrayals.

It was time to play hero, to go with Trickshot and help take down some faction of the local mob, or at least that was what Clint believed. When things got ugly Clint ended up shooting several of the boss’s guards, one of which turned out to be his brother, Barney. This was no hero quest, Trickshot was here for the money. Horrified and angry, Clint confronted his mentor, his father figure, and received an arrow to each shoulder, pinning him to a nearby tree. That was how the police found him.

Hurt, devastated, betrayed… this was the perfect start to any villain origin story, but Clint was made of stronger stuff. Everyone he had ever loved and looked up to had let him down, but he wasn’t like them, he would never be like them. He cooperated with the authorities, did everything he could to help, and set himself on a different path.

Clint didn’t have much for traditional schooling, but due to is impressive skills and untiring drive, the bureau fast tracked his education, funding his GED and degree so he could join their ranks. He was determined to make it worth the faith and money they put into him, and he certainly delivered on that.

There have been ups and downs during his federal career, including heartbreak and injury, but he has never wavered. As long as there were people out there that needed saving, that what he would do. After all, what else did he have?


The Present: Clint lives in a five storey walk-up, just him and his one-eyed dog, Lucky. He still works for the FBI, but he's feeling a bit stagnant lately. Tried the whole relationship thing, everything went spectacularly south, so he'd rather just keep things casual now.

The Future: All the CR! a face from his past is gonna show up and get him into this whole supernatural side of the world, something he's only seen on television right now. Having him meet powered people and deal with all that should be fun!

Sara Lance

Character Name: Sara Lance
The Past: Sara was not a nice person as a kid. She drank, she partied, she stole boyfriends including her sisters. She had a rude awakening when she ended up on a ship going down at sea. Since then she's been the assistant to an actual mad-scientist, an apprentice then full member of an assassination organization, she's died, and has held down a job as a time traveler. Her life has been a little over the top. But at least she doesn't steal boyfriends anymore.

The Present: Sara works as an agent for the BPRD. Her training and experience made her a solid fit for the organization. Her sister was murdered a few years back, and her parents are divorced and live in separate cities. Sara doesn't really know how to plan for the future, so she doesn't tend to hold down long term relationships.

The Future: Shenanigans galore. Bonding with co-works and investigating all the things.
